Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 July 2026
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use this website, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. This site shows our menu and contact details. Placing an order and paying happen on a separate ordering platform, which has its own privacy policy.

Ordering through our partner
You cannot buy food directly on this website. When you tap "Order Online" you are taken to a separate ordering platform that takes the order and the payment. That platform is a separate data controller and handles your order details and card payment under its own privacy policy. Please read its policy before you order. This policy only covers the information we collect on this website.
The information we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address and the message you send us, so we can read and reply to your enquiry.
- Blog comments: if you leave a comment, the name and email you provide and the comment itself.
- Technical and security data: essential cookies, your IP address and basic request information, which keep the site working, prevent abuse and apply rate-limiting. See our Cookie Policy.
How and why we use it
Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for using your information. Ours are:
- To answer your enquiry when you use the contact form or leave a comment. This is our legitimate interest in responding to people who get in touch, and taking steps at your request.
- To keep the website secure and prevent fraud, abuse and excessive automated requests. This is our legitimate interest in protecting our business and visitors.
- To meet our legal obligations where the law requires it.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the website, and only as needed:
- Ordering platform: when you choose to order, you leave this site for our ordering partner, which then handles your order and payment under its own policy.
- Email delivery: our email provider, so we can reply to enquiries.
- Hosting: the provider that hosts this website and its database.
- Embedded content: when you allow non-essential cookies, map and video embeds (Google, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube) may load and set their own cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
We may also disclose information where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Sending data outside the UK
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement) so your information stays protected.
How long we keep it
- Contact enquiries and comments: kept for as long as we need them to deal with your message and any follow-up, then deleted.
- Security logs: kept for a short period only.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- access a copy of your information;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- have your information erased ("right to be forgotten");
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- data portability (receive your data in a usable format);
- withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, email activewok@activechefwok.com. We will respond within one month. For information you gave the ordering platform, please contact that platform directly, as it holds that data.
Cookies
We use a small number of essential cookies to make the site work, and (only with your consent) some third-party cookies for embedded content. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
Children
This website is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above shows when it last changed.
Complaints
If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
